Michelle Brown lead the Eagles with 18 pts and 7 rebounds but the Eagles come up a basket short of the title.
It was a back and forth final filled with emotion as the two CVC teams took the court in the 3rd annual Golden Eagle Classic in Lemoore. West Hills found themself ahead 55-52 at the end of the 3rd quarter but Fresno's Jordan Whitfield hit two three pointers to start the fourth quarter giving the Ram's an early lead. Jordan Lasister scored 16 and helped keep the game close as it the fourth quarter time ticked away. With 3 seconds left, the Eagles trailed by two and were inbounding the ball in their half of the court but the long pass was intercepted and the Eagles were unable to get off a potential game winning shot.
Kim Alfors was named to the All-Tournament team for the Golden Eagles.
If this game is any indication of what the conference games will look like in the CVC it sure to be action packed! The next conference match at home will be vs Reedley College, Wednesday evening, January 13th in Golden Eagle Arena.
