MOORPARK – Lemoore College scored a season-high three goals, including a pair by Alan Enriquez, but it wasn't enough in a 6-3 non-conference loss at Moorpark College on Tuesday.
The setback dropped the Golden Eagles to 1-4 overall this season.
Moorpark held a narrow 1-0 lead at halftime thanks to an early goal in the 12th minute. In the second half, both teams' offenses exploded as they combined to score eight goals.
Trailing 2-0, Enriquez knocked in goals in the 59th and 62nd minutes to tie up the contest. But Moorpark went on to score four of the final five goals to pull out the win.
Isaac Moreno added a goal in the 71st minute to close out Lemoore's scoring. Goalkeeper Adam Sumaya faced 14 shots and totaled 8 saves for the Golden Eagles.
Lemoore is back in action on Friday (Sep. 5) when the Golden Eagles hosts Victor Valley College in a 4 p.m. non-conference game.
