Golden Eagles get No. 10 seed for Northern California Playoffs; earn 3 All-CVC awards
The 2025-26 season for the Lemoore College women's basketball team will continue into the postseason. On Sunday, the Golden Eagles were named the No. 10 seed for the upcoming Northern California Regional Playoffs.
Lemoore is set to host No. 23-seed College of San Mateo in a first-round regional playoff game on Wednesday, Feb. 25 at 7 p.m.
Ticket prices for the California Community College Athletic Association (3C2A) postseason game at Golden Eagle Arena are $12 for general admission and $8 for all identified students, faculty, staff, senior citizens age 60 and over, and children under 12 years old.
New head coach Keshawn Johnson had an impressive opening season with the Golden Eagles, leading Lemoore to the playoffs for the first time since the 2021-22 season.
Lemoore closed out the regular season with a 20-8 overall record and finished third in the Central Valley Conference with a solid 9-3 mark.
The Golden Eagles have been consistently ranked among the state's top-20 all season and put together an impressive 10-game winning streak earlier this season.
No. 23 San Mateo wrapped up its regular season with a 14-14 overall record and finished third in the Coast Conference North Division at 5-3. Lemoore and San Mateo will be meeting for the second time this season. On Nov. 20, the Golden Eagles cruised to an 87-59 victory over the Bulldogs at the San Jose City College tournament.
The winner of Wednesday's match up will move on to a second-round game at No. 7 City College of San Francisco (22-5) on Saturday. Three wins are needed by the Golden Eagles to advance to the 3C2A State Championships on March 12-15 at College of the Sequoias in Visalia.
